Anxiety and depression are some of the most common form of mental health issues in the world. However, it's often hard to find spaces that we can feel comfortable expression ourselves and meeting people we can be open and vulnerable about the issues we're facing.
Shimmer's support group are a great place to discuss issues, strategies, and resources with others who understand what you're going through. Best of all, you develop close relationships with your group-mates over time and stay accountable in improving your mental health, together.
Our Shimmer Groups draw off of years of peer support and group therapy research. We believe in the power of connecting those with similar identities and experiences. Learn more about the evidence behind Shimmer Groups.
Shimmer Anxiety and Depression Support Groups is a safe place to connect with 6-8 others going through daily challenges due to anxiety or depression. Our expert facilitator with lived experience meets with your group once a week for 60 minutes, and you'll have access to mood tracking, gratitude journaling, and community events on our custom digital platform. Together, you'll:
✨ Find support from others who understand the challenges of anxiety and depression.
✨ Share your mental health story and feel understood.
✨ Learn new skills and stay accountable for your mental health improvement.
Our curriculum is carefully developed by a licensed mental health therapist, Sharon Kim LMHC, and an expert group psychiatrist doctor from UCSF, Amin Azzam MD.
We use a mix of theory, discussion, exercises, and support to develop meaningful connections, honest conversations, and a community you can feel supported by.
